“Well, you could always retire. Become a stay at home mom.”
“…What if I became a consultant?”
“That could work too. Spend more time with yer kids.”
“And still have health insurance for all of us. But what about you?”
“I’ll be fine girlie. I’ve made my connections now in the motherhouse.”
“I might. I’m not sure yet… Never done this before, ya know?” She offered him a little smile, head tilting a bit to the right. “I mean, I’m not doing field work anymore. Ever. So, we’ll have to hire another agent.”
“Whoa~ Gonna spend your life doing paper work now? I can’t imagine that.”
“I don’t have a choice, ya know?” She shrugged a bit. “It’s too dangerous for me now. I have a husband and kids I need to think about. Yeah, I’m going to be bored out of my mind and ripping my hair out of my head, but at least I know that I’ll come home to them every night.”
